Memory "Tag"

I usually don't post these, but want to put out a gratuitous troll to see who still reads my drivel...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember that maybe brings a smile to your face!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It will be fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

There are over 6 years of married memories with you. One of my favorites is when we were still only friends and you would hang out down in the basement for hours and hours with me and we'd play goofy games like taking an object and seeing how many things we could pretend it was.

Another favorite is after giving birth to our babies and everything has settled down and it's just you, me, and the new baby in the hospital. The peacefullness and joy is indescribable.

Ok, one more... The first couple years after we were married and still didn't have much spending money we would just go to the mall and walk and walk and window shop. At first I thought you were crazy to want to go to the mall when we didn't have money to buy anything, but I just loved picturing our future and looking at all the different, fun things there are.

"I'm the fastest hare in the west!!"

I witnessed a lot of your talking/walking/panicking in your sleep during years of camping and sharing apartments, and I think that one is my favorite.

I remember walking from Maceys to your house in what seemed to be the worst rainstorm in Utah history, because one of us thought it would be fun to walk to the store instead of drive. That was pretty cool, but kinda cold.

I love it!

Melissa, those are some of my best memories ever. Thank you for the reflection and the tears. I teared up, dripped on the keyboard, and got mildly electrocuted. It was therapeutic after this long work week, and might even qualify as electroshock therapy in some camps.

Pablo, that 'fastest hare in the west' statement was totally blown out of proportion. I really said "I'm fastest [on my bike and here at elevation when I'm out] here in the west!". It was a celebratory yawp of my pseudo mountain biking prowess. I never intended it for the print. My lawyer will be calling your lawyer about exploiting this with some possible marketing options.

Jody, we walked in rain to Macey's? By the Knights of Columbus! I just wanted to clarify this point to my five readers...Jody is my brother in law, and just to clear up a few facts which could be misconstrued a bit, there were no Carpenters songs sung and narry a skip or hand holding to be had all the way there. In truth we bought meat, and I remember farting, scratching myself repeatedly, and grunting in response to the cashier (a female, obviously entranced at my itchy flatulence). It was a celebration of manhood and a liberation of our autolocomotion.

My very first memory of you - The night I met you (and Burke for that matter), Jenny and I had somehow ended up at your house with Burkely, and he woke you up and talked you into watching a movie with us (Goonies). You fell asleep on the floor, Jenny fell asleep on the couch, and I spent the remainder of the evening trying to ignore Burke's attempts at getting my attention.

I fell asleep on the floor? Oy! What a poor host I was! I am glad however that you gave in to Burke's attempts--I can think of no better person for my buddy to have as his best friend and better half.

I actually have to post because just about a week ago you were on my mind. I'd taken my kids to the library and Trevor picked out about 3 books - about sharks - not children's books, but the massive ones with the note on them that says 'do not put in book drop' - the ones that tell not only about sharks, but other sea creatures too, complete with all the details.
It made me think of you immediately because I remember you sitting and reading the encyclopedia... A LOT! Did you ever get through the entire set? I know at one time that was your goal.... smarty pants.
